About QuizCodes
Most candidates who fail a code-based qualification exam don't fail because they lack experience. They fail because the exam is a different skill than the job. It rewards navigation, precise reading, and decision-making against the clock — not the field instincts that keep a site running.
Reading a code compendium cover to cover doesn't build that skill. Answering hundreds of questions, seeing why each answer is right or wrong, and repeating until the reasoning becomes automatic does.
That's the whole product: a question bank you can drill, on any device, until the pattern clicks.
QuizCodes assumes you're a working adult studying on your own schedule. There is no cohort, no live class, and no instructor waiting on the other end.
QuizCodes is a private study platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, accredited by or recognized by the Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA), Tarion, the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Skilled Trades Ontario, the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), the Red Seal program, CSA Group, Technical Safety BC, the Alberta Safety Codes Council, or any other regulator or standards body.
Enrolling here does not satisfy a mandatory course requirement, does not guarantee an exam result, and does not confer any licence, certificate or designation.
We also don't reproduce the code. Building codes, electrical codes and referenced standards are protected works published by their respective authorities. You obtain your own current copy from the official publisher, and QuizCodes teaches you to use it.
And our content is exam preparation — not construction instruction. It is written to help you pass a knowledge test, not to tell you how to build. On site, the official code in force and the judgment of a qualified professional govern. Always.
I spent thirty years running a security, video surveillance and fire alarm company. Installing, wiring, commissioning — and being the one standing there when the inspector showed up.
That work lives inside the codes. Fire alarm especially: Part 3 of the Building Code, Section 32 of the electrical code, the ULC standards for installation, verification and monitoring. I learned them the way most of you did — on jobs, under deadline, with a customer waiting.
I also trained on the software side, which is why this is a quiz platform and not another manual.
I'm not an engineer and I'm not a building official. What I am is someone who ran a business for three decades and got tired of watching capable trades and builders fail a written exam that has very little to do with whether they can do the work. QuizCodes is the study tool I wish I'd had.
